Position Overview

• Oversee safety, quality, and efficiency in the jaw plant.
• Work with Safety Mojo, Microsoft Office, and Time Clocks Plus software.

Requirements

• Experience operating a jaw crusher, and operating or training others on a jaw/secondary crushing plant.
• Experience across all plant types - rip rap, wash, and crushing.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to recognize and resolve quarry, plant, and waterfront hazards.
• Strong communication skills; works well with all personnel to minimize conflict and build teamwork.
• Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including in extreme heat and cold.
• Able to perform manual labor, including lifting to 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office, Safety Mojo, and Time Clocks Plus.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Lead daily safety huddles and the Good Catch/Near Hit program; conduct workplace exams and site inspections to identify and correct hazards.
• Production: Review production goals, investigate shortfalls through root cause analysis, monitor dust suppression and overall plant operation, check stockpiles hourly, and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Personnel: Monitor team morale and well-being; enter employee hours into the timekeeping system.
• Plant management: Make regular on-site visits and stay actively involved in hourly production management; learn all plant tasks to backup-operator level; fill in for management during temporary vacancies.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with MSHA and applicable state and federal environmental agencies (EPA).
• Maintain housekeeping standards in all plant and storage areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
